Alright, saw Kings of Leon on Wednesday. They were so damn good. Like, I went there expecting them to have a difficult time pulling off all the sounds on the albums and, It was just so much better. I was quite surprised. The Opening band, by the way, were the Walkmen, they were good as well, I was happy they played "the rat", that song is killer. Anyway, Kings played for almost 2 hours (counting the encore). They had a good mix of songs from all 4 albums, which was cool. I still don't have "only by the night", so I didn't know a few of the new songs they played, besides the singles, which I don't like, but Sex on fire was better live, and Use somebody was actually great. But some highlights for me were:
+Four kicks & Charmer, back to back, I mean, that was just the fucking best.
+The crowd singing like every word to every song. I was surprise everyone knew most of the older stuff. This was especially great when we were singing the backing "Oh-Oh-Oh-OH-Ohhh-oh" to knocked up, during the encore. That song is seven minutes long, and they played it even longer, and it was just great.
+Black thumbnail, during the encore, when Caleb kicked the mic stand off the stage. It might sounds cheesy, but I always wanted to see a band do that for some reason, and so that was killer for me. hahaha.
I was hoping they'd play king of the rodeo, and ragoo, but there's always next time. It seemed like they had a good time, and I expect them to actually come back to Pittsburgh. Which is good. I'm glad people besides me like them here, so they'll come back. Lots of bands I see here, no one else seems very interested and they never come back through.
